Mmmm… Long pig!
made ill by AngryBob
.: Tonight was the KOSCO company Christmas party. Fifth one since I came to work there, and the first one I wasn't stuck at work and was able to make it.
It was fun.
Lots of drinking and letting loose of the yearly build-up of usual ills that plague every company. A nice chance to get it off your chest and vent while being plied with liquor and food from the company.
Don't get me wrong. I like KOSCO. But it is nice to hear people bitch drunkenly and let loose some steam, and it's also nice that the company does it. Because other places don't.
Last steady job did. Smaller company, so more intimate, social parties where less bitching was done, so all of the old shit was still buried deep when the new year hit.
.: So, I'm going to bed now. Because I am expected to be at work tomorrow, and I won't mind being there as much, since we had a good time tonight.
I like the people I work with. Good bunch o' eggs.
.: But!
The first Jedi Jesus is almost done. It's penciled, and mostly I wonder if I should ink it with real ink or do it up on the computer. And I ain't decided on whether or not to color it.
Guess we'll find out soon.

.: Randomness Boob Tube Shit.
.: The mid-season finale of Heroes was.
Yes, that's a complete sentence. It was. Was what? I don't really know. There was a lot in there that I liked, and it wasn't as huge a let down as the mindblowing shitty season finale of season one. But it was kinda close. Again, it seems that we spent a whole lot of build up for really simple, quick resolutions that left me feeling a little cheated.
High points: Niki got blowed up. Nathan got done in like Bobby Kennedy. Hiro did some samurai sword swinging/yelling and teleported around like he should have been doing in the finale.
Low points: Peter easily abandons Adam once his brother shows up. Hiro buries Adam in a grave and we never get to see any sort of real fight that ends there. The whole thing with HRG showing up at the end and asking Claire to cease and desist her quest.
And there's some 'meh' moments. Interviews with show creator Kring say that they were going to listen to the viewers, and he apologized for all the shittiness that seeped in at the beginning of the season. But I don't feel that rushing a bunch of story threads to conclusion was a good idea.
Read some Claremont X-Men. You can leave a story thread dangling for a long time as long as you have good stories going on at the same time. Move the characters on to other things with an occasional hint/reminder/reveal. I liked the virus idea. The idea that it was resolved already kinda gets me irritated.
.: Other TV. Unlike The Dude, I really like Chuck and the Bionic Woman. I think Chuck is pretty darn good. I think the Bionic Woman is great entertainment (but ultimately just really junk food for the mind). Journeyman never grabbed me like I wish it would have. But Pushing Daisies… I too am trying to make out with that show.
.: Galactica Razor. Pretty good. It was a nice fix for those of us who still have to wait for March. I do plan on picking up the DVD sometime soon. Want to get the fucking Futurama DVD as well.
At least Galactica will be back in March (as opposed to a month later, like April as I once heard). Despite the slows, glitches and other minor gripes, that's some good TV there.
I mean, fucking FTL jump into and out of the atmosphere during the liberation of New Caprica still makes me piss myself with excitement.
Geek moment.
.: And with that, I sign off. Working on some bad art projects for the kiddies, as well as some very short, very strange little tales and fables.
Haven't really done much lately. If you're a frequently disappointed visitor, you probably know this. To be honest, I haven't even gone near my desk in about a month. All my on-line time has been logged at the laptop upstairs or a brief fuck-off moment at work.
Checked my e-mail last night. Had a little over eight hundred emails that weren't automatically delegated to the junk/spam category. Of this, there were probably about 150 cases of flat out Spam. Of the remainder, maybe 600 messages were Bacn (which is subscribed updates, newsletters, notifications, myspace message-friend-comment notifications and the like, if you weren't in the know). Of the leftover fifty or so messages, about thirty were forwards of jokes or pictures I've seen a hundred or so times. Fifteen of the remaining twenty were things I don't consider Bacn, but could be. Email invites to see people's pictures on SnapFish and registration info and confirmation links to things I signed up for and then promptly forgot to check out when I got home. 6 messages were of a personal nature; Three from my Aunt, two from my buddy Josh and one invite to a party that I got way to late to attend.
So lots of mail. Nothing to read.
After filtering through that mess. I started to work on some new things for the site. Removed the ads because A) Nobody's buying anything. B) They clutter things up.
So, a new promise again to post more frequently. Mostly going to be short fictions, ill-poetry experiments, vintage ads gone bad, and yes… Napkin Art.
Because these things are relatively easy, if I can get my ass to sit in a chair and concentrate for a while.
Lights are on.
Power up.
Believe it when you see it.
