Hey,
For all of you that know my mother and stepfather, Mike Shapiro; he passed away this morning. It was cancer, he was at home with his wife, son and brother and he was with it enough to know who he was with.
It wasn't a long battle, and for that we say thankya. Once things got bad, things moved relatively quickly, so he didn't suffer as much as others we've all known. It sucks that he had to suffer at all. He was a good man, husband, father, grandfather and stepfather. He even put up with a whole lot of my shit during the 20+ years that he was with my mother. For those of you who know me long, you know what a feat that was.
Mike is Jewish, so things happen quickly as far as arrangements and burials. There will be a service at some chapel tomorrow at 12:15 in Brooklyn, it's across from Kings Plaza mall, I don't know where exactly, but I know where Kings Plaza is. Shouldn't be hard to find from there. From there, we will be going to a cemetary somewhere on Long Island. Yes, somewhere, I don't know where exactly at this moment.
For those of you who know Mike or my mother, if you'd like to stop by the chapel service to pay respects, please do. We will be back at my mothers house towards the end of the day, and Chuck, John and I will be there for a couple of days, so if you'd liketo stop by and pay respects there, that's fine and nice too.
