Okay, I received from Blue Microphones, the files needed for the Snowball Mic High Gain fix.

The letter read:

“Our Snowball link has been absolved of its duties due to the Snowball shipping with high gain firmware installed “stock”. If you need firmware, attached you can find a high gain version for Windows XP and a version that can be run on Mac OSX. Please note that you’ll need administrative privileges to run the file and then you’ll need to reset your Operating System input and recording software input too.”

I’ll keep them on my site and my hard drive so that anyone who needs it can come and find it.
